More than simply choosing a saddle

Conventional saddles are designed to suit groups of riders.

A traditional saddle assessment can help identify the most suitable shape and width, but riders with the same sit-bone width may still interact with a saddle very differently.

Your pressure distribution can be influenced by:

  • Your riding position

  • Pelvic rotation

  • Flexibility and mobility

  • Riding discipline

  • Pedalling movement

  • Previous injuries

  • Sensitivity to pressure

  • The duration and intensity of your riding

Fizik One-to-One takes the process further.

Instead of selecting only a standard saddle shape, we use dynamic pressure data recorded while you ride to create an individually tuned 3D-printed cushioning structure.

The finished saddle is made specifically for you.

What is Fizik One-to-One?

Fizik One-to-One is a personalised saddle programme using dedicated pressure-mapping technology and Fizik Adaptive 3D-printing.

During your assessment, a pressure-sensing mat is fitted to the saddle while you ride your own bicycle.

The system records how pressure is distributed across the saddle in real time, allowing us to examine:

  • Pressure concentration

  • Areas of high loading

  • Left-to-right balance

  • Pelvic stability

  • Movement on the saddle

  • Changes between riding positions

We use this information alongside your feedback, riding history and bike position to select the appropriate Fizik saddle platform and create your individual production profile.

Fizik then manufactures a bespoke Adaptive saddle with cushioning zones tuned to your pressure data.

Why dynamic pressure mapping matters

Pressure on a saddle is not static.

It changes as you pedal, move between riding positions, alter your effort and respond to the terrain.

A static sit-bone measurement cannot show how stable you are while riding or where pressure peaks develop over time.

Dynamic pressure mapping allows us to assess what is happening while you ride in your normal position.

Depending on your discipline, we may record data while you ride:

  • On the tops, hoods and drops

  • In an endurance or performance road position

  • In an aero or triathlon position

  • Seated during climbing efforts

  • In your usual gravel or mountain-bike posture

The aim is to create a pressure profile that reflects the way you genuinely use your bike.

Your Fizik One-to-One journey

1. Rider consultation

We begin by discussing you, your bike and your riding.

This includes:

  • Your riding discipline

  • Typical ride duration and intensity

  • Current saddle

  • Previous saddle experiences

  • Areas of discomfort or sensitivity

  • Previous injuries

  • Existing bike-fit history

  • Your goals for the new saddle

We will also review your current riding position to confirm that it provides a suitable foundation for the customisation process.

A custom saddle should be created around an appropriate and repeatable bike position.

Where necessary, we may recommend completing a wider bike-fit assessment before proceeding.

2. Baseline pressure assessment

The dedicated Fizik pressure mat is fitted over your current saddle.

You then ride your own bicycle on the indoor trainer while we collect live pressure data.

This creates a baseline showing how you currently interact with the saddle.

We assess:

  • Overall weight distribution

  • Pressure peaks

  • Localised hotspots

  • Pelvic stability

  • Left-to-right asymmetry

  • Movement during pedalling

  • Changes between riding positions

We will talk you through the results and explain what the data may indicate.

Pressure mapping is interpreted alongside your feedback and bike position. It is not treated as an isolated measurement.

3. Saddle selection and personal profile

We use the information gathered during your consultation and baseline assessment to select the most suitable Fizik saddle shape and size.

The assessment saddle is installed and carefully positioned on your bike.

You then ride again while we collect the measurements needed to create your individual One-to-One production profile.

This profile determines how the 3D-printed cushioning structure will be tuned across different areas of the finished saddle.

You will also select your preferred rail option, subject to model availability.

Once the profile has been reviewed and approved, the order is submitted to Fizik for manufacture.

4. Custom manufacture

Your saddle is manufactured using Fizik Adaptive 3D-printing technology.

The lattice structure can be tuned across different zones of the saddle, creating varying levels of support and cushioning according to your individual pressure profile.

Your custom saddle is manufactured specifically for you and is not taken from standard retail stock.

Current manufacturing and delivery time is approximately [INSERT CURRENT LEAD TIME], although this can vary.

We will contact you as soon as your saddle arrives at CORE Bike Fit.

5. Installation and validation

When your custom saddle arrives, you return to the studio for your fitting and validation appointment.

We will:

  • Install the finished saddle

  • Reproduce the correct saddle height

  • Set the appropriate setback

  • Adjust the saddle angle

  • Confirm your riding position

  • Repeat the dynamic pressure assessment

  • Compare the new data with your original saddle

  • Make any final adjustments

This second assessment allows us to evaluate changes in pressure distribution, stability and balance.

It also gives you an opportunity to experience the finished saddle in a controlled environment before taking it onto the road or trail.

  • Audax and ultra-distance cycling

The service can be completed using any suitable make or model of bicycle.

Do I need a bike fit first?

Not every rider needs a full bike fit before completing the Fizik One-to-One process.

However, saddle pressure can be heavily influenced by your wider riding position.

For example, excessive reach, inappropriate saddle height, poor cleat position or limited pelvic stability may cause you to load the saddle in a way that cannot be resolved by cushioning alone.

Where your existing position is stable and appropriate, we may be able to proceed directly with the One-to-One assessment.

Where your discomfort appears to be related to your overall position, we may recommend one of our bike-fit services before creating your production profile.

This ensures your custom saddle is built around the position you intend to maintain.

Frequently asked questions

Is the saddle included in the advertised price?

Yes.

The package price includes the assessment, individual pressure profile, bespoke saddle, professional installation and follow-up validation unless clearly stated otherwise.

Is this simply a saddle-fitting appointment?

No.

A conventional saddle-fitting appointment helps identify the most suitable standard saddle.

Fizik One-to-One includes the creation and manufacture of a bespoke saddle with a 3D-printed cushioning structure tuned to your individual pressure data.

Is the shape of the saddle custom-made?

The process begins by selecting the most suitable Fizik saddle platform, shape and size.

The 3D-printed Adaptive cushioning structure is then individually tuned according to your pressure profile.

Can you guarantee that the saddle will eliminate discomfort?

No saddle or bike-fitting service can guarantee the complete elimination of discomfort.

Saddle comfort is affected by many factors, including bike position, riding volume, clothing, skin sensitivity, movement, previous injuries and adaptation.

The One-to-One process provides a highly personalised, data-led solution, but it is important that any wider causes of discomfort are also addressed.

Can I use the service if I have not had a bike fit?

Yes, provided your current riding position is suitable and repeatable.

We will review this during your initial consultation.

Where we identify a broader positional issue, we may recommend completing a bike fit before ordering the saddle.

Can I use any type of bike?

The service can be carried out on most suitable road, gravel, mountain, time-trial and triathlon bikes.

Please contact us before booking if your bike has an unusual seatpost, saddle clamp, indoor-only setup or specialist configuration.

How long will my saddle take to arrive?

Current lead time is approximately 2 to 4 weeks from submission of the approved production profile.

Manufacturing and delivery times may vary.

We will provide the most up-to-date estimate during your appointment.

Can I take the assessment saddle away to test?

The dedicated assessment saddles are used to create your production profile and are not normally available for extended loan.

We will ensure you have sufficient time to ride and provide feedback during your appointment.

Can I fit the finished saddle myself?

Professional installation is included in the package.

We strongly recommend that the saddle is installed and validated at CORE Bike Fit.

Small differences in height, setback and angle can materially change pressure distribution and how the saddle feels.

What happens during the follow-up appointment?

We install the finished saddle and reproduce the intended riding position.

You will then ride while we repeat the pressure assessment.

This allows us to compare the custom saddle with your original baseline and make any final positional adjustments.

What happens if my bike position changes later?

A significant change to saddle height, setback, reach or riding posture may alter how you load the saddle.

Please contact us before making substantial changes to your setup.

Where required, a follow-up bike-fit or pressure-mapping appointment can be arranged.

Are custom saddles returnable?

Fizik One-to-One saddles are individually manufactured using your personal pressure profile.

They are therefore treated as personalised products and may not be eligible for standard returns or cancellations once production has begun.

Please read our custom-order terms before confirming your order.
